Maybes its post Vista stress that makes Win7 rock but I love it. Its responive, I click the icon and my Outlook opens instantly, so does explorer, I alt-tab from brand new graphic intensive games and it comes to desktop without a stutter and then tabs back into the game like a dream. Its faster than XP, prettier than Vista and really MS have done a fantastic job. I have been running Vista for a long time and its laggy, stuttering, dysfunctional performance has driven me crazy, I actually wiped the Vista OS and switched to Win7 BETA as my main OS which shows how much Vista had wrong with it. So far in one month I havent found a single flaw in Win7 and its still running as fast as the day I installed it. Its the first MS os since Windows 3.1 that responds the second you click the mouse, even XP took a second to open explorers and outlook ect, Win7 doesnt even think about it, click and its there. My issues are: 1) I'm only mildly computer literate, so I'm concerned that the Beta will be more unstable than Vista, leading to frustration and regret, and 2) my understanding is that the Beta version will only work until August of this year, at which point the user most purchase the released Windows 7 or go back to Vista. I was an Aix Administrator of high end machines, and I sold solutions that ran on Red Hat and was (probably still am) a Certified Red Hat engineer.<BR/><BR/>Still, back then (2000) you could buy red hat off the shelves in harvey norman, now that cheep version doesnt exist.<BR/><BR/>There is a new flavour and build of Linux all too often, I can't roll it out to all my users, I cant trust it will work, it will be supported and it will be here in 2 years.<BR/><BR/>Plus, everyone I know has problems with it, where can I get a driver, how do I do multiple screens, is there a Visio compatiable program.<BR/><BR/>Its all a bit hard, especially for the desktop. The two main schools are redhat and debian based, and as such most linux software is supplied in a form that will work on any. Windows emulation is also getting a lot better very quickly. <BR/><BR/>Having said that, if you dont wanna use linux, fine, im not forcing you. Glad your happy with windows 7. Not only is it completely free but it&#39;s better, user friendly and to get software, you just click the equivilent of the start menu, hit &#39;add software&#39; and the OS searches the net for you and gives you a list of things that you can click to install. No downloads, no hassles and no money!!!
