TomTom Ripoff

I have a TomTom One V3, love it, really good. However the day I purchased it, I found it had last years maps. Ok not so bad, I'll go and update. What, I have to pay, wait a minute, I just purchased it, surely it should come with free updates for a period, its not my fault that I got one that must have been sitting on a shelf or in a warehouse for X months.

The TomTom One V3 cost me $220, a new map $150. Its a rip off, if I had known I would not have purchased it. The maps should be inexpensive and on a subscription, ie $50 per year gives you free updates.

Not Happy!

You sir are a victim of corporate greed, no fear tho - few minutes of googling will get you free maps and newer version of software ;)

Well I would be happy to pay if the price was reasonable, but it's just not, which would lead a lot of people to a pirate version.

You should have gotten it for free using Latest Map Guarantee.

Also, as of this month you can subscribe to map updates as well.

what? 220$ and 250$ for a the newest Maps, it's too expensive.
You have simply to look for a free Software with the latest Maps.

I'd be curious why in 2009 people are purchasing a GPS unit versus just using something like Google Maps via a phone that can piggy back off of GPS Seems like overall it would be even less expensive.
