There is some debate as to the release date of ColdFusion 8. Most think it will be 1st August 2007. Some would like to think it would be released on 08/08/08.
But I have heard that the actual release might be exactly when they always said it would be, mid year. Just in case your not clear, that's 1st July 2007.
Now time will tell I guess and I always take these things with a grain of salt. But now I'm excited as I can start using it.
Mind you, I have a CF related site that I was planning on launching at the same time, and that date doesn't give me much time

at the Scottish CFUG conference 'scotch on the rocks' last month Tim Buntel made a point of emphasising that it would be announced smack bang in the middle of the year... which as you say is july 1st, but what is happening just days before that? CFUnited which happens to be one of the biggest coldfusion conferences in the world... seems like as good a place as any if you ask me.
I'm still betting on it being released at MAX in October.

08/08/2007 is more feasible to mee. But I'm quite sure nobody will guess the real date until the release.

I doubt it will be 1st of July, the bug list is still to huge.
At cfunited they tend to always have a big announcement - I think its very very very likely that it will be at cfunited or a few days after

I think that was wishfull thinking on someone's part. Or my reading of a clue gone wrong.
My new guess is 8/8/7. But earlier would be ok also :)
